ASK WAYNE....

Are the cattle at PV Farm 100% grass fed their entire lives?

Yes. Our cattle are raised on pastures and finished on pastures. In summer months they graze on grass and natural forages and in winter months we provide them with high quality alfalfa hay from our farm.

How do your cattle consume maximum nutrition?

They are moved on a daily basis, allowing them to graze on fresh, high quality grasses. This also lets us spend a lot of time with our cattle, making sure they are healthy and content.

Do you supplement your cattle?

We believe in keeping our animals as healthy as possible and offer them an all natural , non-grain specialty supplement if required.

Do you vaccinate your cattle?

Yes. All records of vaccinations and deworming are electronically filed and available for inspection at any time.

Do you ever keep your cattle in pens?

We use our pens at PV Farm for calving, health protocols and extreme weather conditions. We are a family run farm and enjoy working together in all areas of the operation. We believe this is a safe and stress free method for both our family and the cattle. Everyone is welcome to stop by for a visit to see our facilities.

Do you give your cattle growth hormones or antibiotics?

Our cattle are never given growth hormones or promotants. If the situation arises and we have an unhealthy animal that requires antibiotics, we will administer according to protocol. That particular animal will not be used in the products we sell.

How many cattle do you process at a time?

Our cattle are personally delivered to our government inspected butcher in small groups of 9 or less. We will never transport an animal on its own. Our cattle are extremely calm and every effort is made to keep them comfortable at all times. Less stress = more tenderness!

How do you keep track of the cattle?

All our animals have an individual number as well as an RFID (radio frequency) tag that allows us to track them. Their visual tags are recorded on each package of your beef .

How long is your beef aged?

Our beef is processed by a highly skilled butcher. It is hung to dry age at this controlled facility for a minimum of 14 days. It is then cut and packaged to your specifications.

How is your beef packaged?

Your choice....brown paper wrapped or cryovac.
